How RcF Started.
Curious how RcF Radio came to be? It’s kinda a funny story actually. 3 buddies (Andy, Tony, and Cory) used to have nightly phone chats, where they would talk about anything from R/c’s, to girls, to calling each other names (jokingly). So one night we had been chatting about all the past jobs we have had. I had mentioned how my time at 88.1fm Kvsc helping a friend host a weekly hip hip show called “The Urban Invasion” was one of my favorite “Jobs”. (I put them in quotations since it didn’t feel like work, and I didn’t receive a check. It was all volunteer). Somehow the Rc’s, the forum (RcFanatics.net) and radio got mixed together and I don’t remember who suggested the radio but it was definitely in the works from there on out.
RcF Radio started in a place we like to call “The Dungeon” which consisted of a 10X12 room with a work bench, 2 water heaters, a sump pump, a dehumidifier and some other thing that I have no idea what it is but it hisses a lot and its big.. So with a laptop, a $20 microphone off ebay, and a few blankets to quiet the sweet sounds of the compounds of “The Dungeon”, RcF hit the air. To our surprise the 1st show seemed to go over pretty well. So well that I had said if we reached a certain amount of listeners (I wasn’t too confident the number would be reached haha) I was to sing “Im to Sexy” By: Right Said Fred.. Which I ended up having to sing, that wasn’t a pretty site.
Later on, after the show grew, we decided we needed a better setup. So I had purchased a 12 channel mixer, linked it to a up to a computer strictly setup for the show, 2 Sure microphones, got everything set up to take calls, etc.. Then RcF took on a co-host (Cory) for the season.
What is RcF Radio?
